HOW WE WORK
OUR PHilosophy
Just as the magnificent albatross is able to cross stormy or calm oceans without exertion or fatalities, we believe that all human beings should enjoy a beautiful life regardless of circumstance. Unlike the albatross, we as a species tend to inflict great physical, emotional and mental pain unto ourselves and others, and in doing so, we lose our ability to live peacefully, we forfeit our right to happiness, we fall prey to illnesses of the body and mind and, before long, we are no longer living nor do we feel part of what was meant to be a beautiful life.
Our approach to healing begins with TODAY, the now, and not the story of the past because we cannot physically go to that particular incident, event or occurrence, but we can start with today. We focus on how we are now (broken, angry, depressed, sad, confused, negative) and how we would like to become (balanced, centred, happy, positive, purposed).
Similarly, our leaders are exposed to stressful and traumatic events either in their own lives or in the lives of the people they serve. We believe that a healthy and balanced leader can facilitate and encourage a country, community, organization, and people to be resilient in times of hardship and conflict, war, disaster, and turmoil.
The Albatross
Just as the magnificent albatross is able to cross stormy or calm oceans without exertion or fatalities, we believe that all human beings should enjoy a beautiful life regardless of circumstance.
OUR APPROACH
Every person who has been affected by stress, prolonged stress and trauma deserves to be heard. All stories need to be acknowledged and honoured. The key differentiator for Albain Institute is that the story should be heard when the owner of the experience is ready to share it. Our workshops provide participants with a practical understanding of the impact of stress and trauma on their lives, how to identify stress and trauma and most importantly, how to effectively deal with the issues at hand. They are transformative, not informative.
THE PAUL BOYLE METHOD
The Paul Boyle Method (PBM) is a process comprising up to 20 steps covered over a five-day period that empowers a participant to process their trauma experience(s) and manage their stress WITHOUT speaking or making reference to the actual experience or event. It combines and integrates a comprehensive understanding of the effects of trauma, stress and PTSD as it applies to one’s mind, physical body and spiritual being by means of storytelling.
By telling stories, participants are able to reconnect to themselves, to the group and to family. The process helps participants to identify what balances and centres them. It is the ability to translate the biological, metaphysical and chemical effects of trauma into practical, applied neuroscience practice, combined with cognitive behaviour therapy, bioenergetics, psychology, zoology, anatomy and diet that provides a lasting effect.
Albain workshops provide you and your team with the knowledge, tools and skills to stay on top of your game and to become more resilient in an ever-changing and uncertain environment.
